lower eye surgery
BEFORE:
i am 52 years old. for about the last 10 years i hated looking at myself in the mirror. i wore slightly tinted glasses to hide the large bags and dark circles under my eye. finally, i could'nt take the saggy, baggy eye look. i researched and did my homework and found Dr. Cruise in Newport Beach. i was skeptical.i'm not fond of any surgery, especially on my face! i went in for consultation. the staff made me feel comfortable, even though seeing the doctor next, made me nervous. Dr. Cruise came in and went through every option: what procedures were avalable, what i can expect from each one, which would give me the best results and more info. i did not feel pressured or talked into something i did not need. i felt at ease discussing the eye surgery. i decided to go for it.
yes, at first i thought i was crazy to put myself through this, but i have to tell you it was UNBELIEVABLY painless and the results were better than ever.
DURING:
this is how in simple words the surgery went. i took my prescription pills a few hours before i went in. yes, i was relax but not out of it. brought my I-Pod and put my headset on. felt a few small pinches where the locals were injected. what i had was a small amount of fat taken out of my abdomen (which was a small, quick and painless lipo) which, then was injected under my skin near the cheekbone/under the eyes. i also had the saggy skin taken off under the eyes. yes, I WAS AWAKE during the procedure and the whole time i listened to good tunes. i did not feel ANYTHING!!!! infact my I-Pod tunes were over right when Dr. Cruise had just finished. i thought, we can't be finished. this is it?
AFTER:
i had a friend pick me up and take me home. i felt fine. i had a prescription for pain killer, that i never took because i had NO pain. the next day i went in to work and showed all my co-workers my face. yes, my eyes were bruised and my cheeks swollen. i still continued doing what i do everyday. it took about 2 weeks to look good enough to stop wearing sunglasses. but everyday i looked better and better. i did have flesh colored bandages on my cheeks for 3 weeks but even that was nothing. infact, the worse part about the complete procedure was the peeling of the old bandages near the end of 3 weeks. still did not have any pain.
for the first time in my life i started to wear contacts. Before, my bags were to to noticable. i can now wear make-up because my face looks good and i don't have to hide behind tinted glasses.
my husband was soooo amazed at how good the procedure turned out. (i've been married 25 years). yes, i have to admit that my marriage changed for the better. (not that it was bad before) my husband has always loved me very much but now he likes showing me off, gives me lots of attention, takes me to more places and can't keep his hands off of me. he says now when i smile my eyes light up. my self-esteem is way high which made me feel good about taking care of myself and losing weight. i now wear fashionable clothes.
i can tell you that growing old has to happen to all of us, but you can still look fantastic and which makes you feel fantanstic which gives you self-esteem and confidence. i could go on and on.
most importantly, make sure any surgery is really what you want. don't do it to keep up with every one else, don't do it because you think everything will change around you. change also comes from within.
find a good doctor, who knows what is really best for you and who is honest. if you live close enough, please check out Dr. Cruise, i highly recommend him. i did to my 22 year-old co-worker who went from a A-bra to medium C-bra. even then, Dr. Cruise suggested what size was realistic for her 5'5" small frame. she's very very happy with her results.
Dr. Cruise has the credentials, loads of experience, he's gentle, caring and sincere to his patients.
i'm sure in the near future i will have more surgery and Doctor Cruise is who i will continued to go to.
i know this blog is long and maybe wordy. there may be missspelled words or incorrect grammer, but i am just your 52 year-old ordinary, everyday hard working menopause mother, wife and a friend to many. i just wished this was out there to ease my mind when i needed more honest information. i hope this helps you.
